| That's me in 'White Sands' |
I live in a nice family with three wonderful hostsisters and a crazy dog. My sisters are 9, 11 and 13 years old and i just love them :)
Since 3 weeks I attend the St.Olav videregående skole in Sarpsborg.
I go in the STUB, the international class. It is a nice class with a lot of different people.
This blog is a school project, but at first, I want to write a little bit about me.
I still can't really talk about my life in Norway because i've only been here for 1 month, so I will talk a little bit about my life in Germany.
I come from Winnenden, a small town close to Stuttgart. It's in the south-west, the 'swabian' part of Germany.
I live with my family in a small house next to some fields. We have a big garden. My brother, Tim is 18 and like my best friend :) We spend a lot of time together and we have almost the same friends.
We love to watch films, going on trips with our dog Dali and listen to music. My brother plays drums and is the best drummer in the world!! ;D
My mum works in a hospital and my dad has his own little metallworking company. And works all day long.
I attend the Georg-Buechner-Gymnasium in Winnenden. In August I finished the 10. class there. After my exchange year I will continue at the GBG and make my Abitur, the general qualification for university entrance. I played tennis the last 3 years with my best friend. Her name is Jana, she's 17 and attends a residential school in. She's home every weekend and we meet every sunday and talk about our last week. I know her since I was born, she's like a sister for me. I grew up with her because we lived in the same house and our mums are best friends too.
I love to go jogging or when I'm lazy -like most of the time- just walking with my little dog Dali, the little pirate. He has only one eye because of a injury. He's a one and a half year old boy from the turkish streets in Ankara. We also have two cats, Pumpkin & Picasso. But they don't like Dali, so they live on a different floor :D
The friends I spend most of my time are all in my class. In June, we have been in Berlin with the whole class and it was a nice week in the coolest city I've ever seen.
I love to travel and finally, last year I have been in the US for 5 weeks. I drove with my papa in a campmobile along the whole westcoast. We started in Seattle and drove southwards to San Francisco and Los Angeles. We also visited Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. This trip was amazing and after, I was sure that I want to see more of the world. When I was in the US, I decided to make an excange year. In spring 2011 I was on a little exchange in France for 2 weeks, so I made a little experience to live in another country & a family I never met before. But sure, you can not compare two weeks with a whole year.
I think I will have a great year in Norway and I hope to make new friends. But till now, I really like it here. :)
I came to Norway at the 8. August 2012. I'm here with the exchange organization YFU -Youth for Understanding. Their goal is to make peace on earth, based on international understanding. I love YFU because everyone there works voluntary and you can feel that they love what they do. We had an arrival camp for all the exchange students from the whole world who came to Norway this year. We stayed in Hønefoss for 3 days. We learned about the language, the school and the whole country. And we had a lot of fun! There were people from Germany, Mexico, Swizerland, Austria, Equador, France, USA, Estland, Bulgaria, Latvia and maybe some more I don't remember. We are 56 people this year. After the 3 days, we came in our hostfamilies, some had to fly by plane to Tromsø or Trondheim. My hostparents picked me up in Hønefoss and we drove to Nærsens, a sweet town in the Oslofjord. The parents of my hostmother live there. We swam a lot and had nice evenings around a fire. After, we traveled to Linkøping in Sweden, the hometown of my hostfather. We also swimmed a lot and visited the town. It was a great time to get eath other known. Two days before school start, we arrived in Sarpsborg. I was shocked about the smell in the streets but I like my new home! :)
